Some of you may know that the U.S. Men’s National Soccer team faces Mexico today at 4 p.m. ET in a vital qualifier for the 2010 World Cup. But did you know that there’ll be a former Gamecock representing the red, white and blue?
Brad Guzan, a goalkeeper at South Carolina in 2003 and 2004,has earned a reputation as one of the best American goalkeepers and has a solid grip on the No. 2 spot behind Tim Howard. Guzan currently plays professionally for Aston Villa in the English Premier League.
The U.S. has an 0-22-1 record against “El Tri” on Mexican soil and will be playing at the famed Estadio Azteca, which holds 100,0000 fans. If you’re looking for ways to catch the game, click here. I know I’ll try and find a way. Good luck to Brad and the Americans today.
