Tougher Schedule

A recent piece of Gamecock-related news was the release of the non-conference schedule for the men’s basketball team.  Last season, our non-conference slate was one of the marks against us on Selection Sunday.  Coach Horn has beefed up the schedule, which includes three games against NCAA Tournament teams.

According to Horn, the biggest boost to the schedule doesn’t necessarily come from the “marquee” teams, but from the number of other teams like Jacksonville, Richmond and Wofford that are competing for championships in their leagues.

You can watch video of Coach Horn addressing the media by clicking here.  He’ll be live on 107.5 The Game today around 3:10 p.m as well.

I’m really looking forward to Boston College game.  I think that’ll be an interesting test of our team.  Too bad Tyrese Rice is gone because it would’ve been fun to see him go head-to-head with Devan Downey.  What are your thoughts on the schedule? Got a game you’ve circled already?

I think the WKU game will be interesting. Coach should know how to play those guys, but they are always dangerous. We will definitely need the Garnet Army. Go Cocks!
