The women’s basketball team invited fans to travel down to Myrtle Beach on a fan bus for their game against North Carolina Sunday. Passengers received a “Beat UNC” t-shirt and a garnet pom-pom as they boarded, as well as a boxed lunch from Firehouse Subs. The bus left the Basketball Practice Facility at 10am and headed down to the Carolinas Challenge, hosted by the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
Once in Myrtle Beach, the fans received an extra treat – a visit from Santa. As the bus pulled up to the Convention Center, Santa Claus was riding by on the front of a Myrtle Beach Fire Department engine, and stopped to accept a pom-pom and t-shirt. He came on the bus and handed out candy canes to everyone and offered a “Go Cocks!”
The fan bus travel squad helped pass out more pom-poms to the rest of the Gamecock fans in attendance, and witnessed a great game against the Tar Heels. Stay tuned for information about more fan bus trips later in the season.
