Know a Gamecock: Sam Muldrow

Junior Sam Muldrow comes to the Gamecocks from Florence, South Carolina. The forward played for Wilson High School and is the cousin of former Gamecock and All-SEC player Carlos Powell. Averaging 9.4 points per game, he leads the Gamecocks with 3.3 blocks per game which ranks him second in the SEC and ninth in the nation. Muldrow is a sociology major at South Carolina.

Who’s an NBA player you’d say you model your game after?

Kevin Garnett – I like the way he plays. He’s a high energy guy.

What is your greatest fear?

Dying.

What’s is your greatest achievement so far?

Getting a 3.4 in my classes this past semester.

What’s the last song you heard on your iPod?

Gucci Mane – Lemonade.

What’s one place you’d like to visit before you die?

Australia. I’ve heard it’s a beautiful place.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

My weight – I need to gain some more weight.

What’s your dream job?

Playing ball. [Editor: What if you couldn’t play pro ball?] Then I’d like to be a coach.

What’s your idea of a perfect meal?

Fried chicken.

What’s your routine like before a game?

Mainly I listen to music – I don’t have any kind of superstitions.

    Hello Sam,
    Great responses. I haven’t followed Gamecock Basketball much since Carlos graduated. I am currently on active duty in the Middle East. However, I did get a chance to see the Kentucky game from Kuwait. Great job! Keep making Florence proud of you on the court and in the classroom.
