About

This isn’t your run-of-the-mill news blog.  If a press release can be described as the play-by-play, then this blog will be the color commentary to South Carolina Athletics.  Want a glimpse behind the scenes? Want videos and photos that you won’t find on the evening news? Interested to read about what our student-athletes do besides pulling on the garnet and black uniform?  You’ll find it here.

Even though I’m fortunate enough to work in college sports, I’m still a fan at heart like you.  So think of this blog as a conversation between Gamecock fans – what you’ll see here is what fans want to see.  The more you talk to me, the more fun we’ll have.

If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, gripes, kudos or just want to say “Go Cocks!” – drop me a line at gamecockalerts@gmail.com or leave a comment and let the conversation begin.

Commenting Policy:

Here are a few thoughts to keep in mind when you’re on our social media sites (Spurs Up Blog, Facebook, Twitter):

Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?

Let’s remember that this is a site for fans of all ages.  Please refrain from vulgar and profane comments.  Comments of this nature will be removed immediately from the site or will not be approved for publishing.

Speak your mind (but be nice about it)

You’re not always going to agree with everything we do around here.  We understand that.  But comments that personally attack an individual or student-athlete will not be allowed.

We’re not the Yellow Pages.

Please don’t use our pages as a place to promote your businesses or products.

Just wanted to drop a note and say that the Spurs Up blog is great!

I have a request for the blog. The Master Facilities page has not been updated to include any new info/pictures of the locker room, the entrance, Champions Club North, or the players’ lounge. The video they have on the athletic village is great, but more info on WB projects would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!
