The Closer: Gamecocks in Top 100

Did you know? College Soccer News recently named Gamecock freshmen Alex Long and Eric Martinez to its list of “100 Freshmen From Coast to Coast to Keep an Eye on in 2009.”

Long earned NSCAA Adidas High School All-America honors and all-state accolades in North Carolina during his prep career.  Martinez, the reigning North Carolina state player of the year, was named an ESPNRISE.com All-American, an NSCAA Adidas High School All-American, and is listed by ESPN.com (RISE Magazine) as one of the top 10 recruits in the country.  Both players are members of the U18 U.S. Men’s National Team and were named as to the Parade All-American team.
